The Food is amazing and the ambiance matches just as well. 1 of my favorite spots to dine.

  • *****

Exceptional food and service! The Huachinango ( sautéed red snapper) recommended by the chef is so yummy. Price is reasonable and portion is huge. The waiter is extremely attentive. Cool environment with both indoor and outdoor seating. Great place to try Latin fusion food~

  • *****

Ingredients and seafood are fresh, the best latin fusion food i had in town. Highly recommend the red snapper. Yumyum

This quaint spot offers authentic, latin fusion cuisine, delicious drinks (I had 3 coconut mojitos) and excellent service. We will definitely be back!! Can't believe we didn't find it sooner!

Cilantro is a hidden gem in the middle of everything and a Samford top 10. On Atlantic Street across the street from the Palace and up the stairs. Perfect for dinner/drinks before a show at the Palace or Majestic Theatre. Latin fusion menu with $5 drinks and happy hour specials weekdays till 7. Large outdoor patio is a great place to gather with friends. We have been there several times and love the food and the consistently friendly service. Excellent sangria!

  • *****

Always exceptional food and service. Hands down one of my favorite places in Stamford. The pupusa is always a great place to start! I also love the choice between indoor and great outdoor seating.

  • *****

Pollo rellena was fantastic with roasted vegetables and purple mashed with the perfect amount of savory/richness. The plantain chips and salsa are easily the best I've had

  • *****

Outdoor patio above street makes a great urban dining experience

I went here with two of my friends for lunch and we had a great time. The food was AMAZING! We ordered to share a guacamole which was really on point and it came along with crunchy plantains which were also super yummy. We also order a pupusa which didn't look nothing like what I am used to but it was very good, filled with flavor and very yummy shrimps. Last but not least we also ordered the "pollo saltado" suggested by Alejandro who was super nice as well as very accommodating. The pollo saltado was also on point, filled with great flavor overpowered by a taste of curry. So if you like curry and a well season dish, that it is what you should go for! The pollo saltado was served with a delicious white rice and black beans. For drinks I ordered Vodka soda with passion fruit and a little splash of syrup and it was delicious! I really enjoyed our food, drinks and the services at Cilantro and I highly recommend it.

Very good. I recommend to anyone that like a home style cooked meal. Worth the value for the delicious meal

  • *****

Hidden gem! This place has incredible food that myself as a Latina, and my co-worker (non-latinos) LOVE. When I tell you that every week my entire office BEGS me to order lunch from here, it is not an exaggeration. Everything I have ever tried from here is beyond delicious. The owner and the staff are such lovely and accommodating people as well! I wish I could give this place more stars! Thank you for everything, you guys are great!!

  • *****

Food here is delicious. They have a great atmosphere and the service is great.

  • *****

Expectional Latin fusion food and service. Cool semi roof top space in the heart of downtown Stamford. Alejandro and his team will leave you coming back for more. Check out the happy hour as well. Great place to pre game before and after a show at the palace.

  • *****

We thought it was just a Spanish food restaurant, but it was more Latin food. We weren't disappointed. It was good food and service. With a little outdoor patio seating area.

  • *****

Delightful food. Unique environment. Great attention to details. Well proportioned portion. Friendly staff. The best in the neighborhood!!!

  • *****

This place is actually underrated, I’ve had a few meals here now and it’s been consistently good. What I love the most about this restaurant is the food presentation and service. Most recently I went for a coworkers birthday and our server Alejandro went above and beyond to make our experience a great one. He even overheard me wishing my coworker a happy birthday and surprised us all with a delicious birthday treat. The food was tasty, the service was quick, the drinks here are delicious. Would highly recommend giving this place a try.

  • *****

This place was ok. Not really a fan of latin places that try to Americanize their restaurants. I have eaten at so may places around the world. And the thing I dislike the most...is a restuarant that serves food on only 40 of the plate. Meaning i see more plate than food. Come on guys...this is supposed to be a Latin restuarant...you have to be proud of what you serve and place as much as you can on a plate. I mean for the price you charge ....it should be like that. Its seems this place is more about presentation rather than quantity.

This is one if my favorite restaurants in town. The food is delicious and the staff is super friendly.

  • *****

Fantastic service! Food is amazing! Great atmosphere!

  • *****

Seriously the best Mexican food I have ever had!!! I had the pulled chicken quesadillas and they were incredible!

  • *****

Excellent service, had a perfectly cooked Gaucho steak. Flavors amazing and distnctive. Saved room for the Tres Leche cake, and was happy I did. Very fresh, one of the best I've had. Highly recommend Cilantro.

Came here for lunch. It was empty save for my group of 5. The waiter was super friendly and helpful, providing great recommendations. Plantain chips for the table were provided. I had the Noche media, basically a cubano in a wrap and it was delicious! The rest of the group enjoyed their meals. Highly recommended for a good carib-latin meal!

  • *****

Best sangria I have ever had! Great restaurant

  • *****

Good service, good food, good ambience - glad I came here! Had an avocado salad and the mahi-mahi and raspberry sangria and it was all great. We also tried the plantains which were good too. Would happily come back

  • *****

Always a great place. Happy hour is even better!

  • *****

I have been to Cilantro about 5 times, both sit-in and take out. Everything I had there was amazing and service is great. I particularly love the quesadillas and the cazuela. Will go back in a heartbeat anytime. Highly recommend!

  • *****

What a great little restaurant. Its quaint atmosphere and dim lighting were perfect for my wife and I to have a night away. The food was absolutely delicious, and we were overjoyed that we arrived in time for happy hour, which is Monday through Friday from 4 PM to 7 PM. The drinks and the tapas were only five dollars, which meant that we were able to binge on a number of different dishes for an amazing deal. The restaurant is situated in a nice little location, which overlooks the street and provides for some nice ambience. The staff was very helpful and the atmosphere was just lovely. There was even convenient parking in a garage right next door.Overall I would say they got everything on point and I would definitely recommend this place.

  • *****

Nice restaurant, too dark to eat fish :D

  • *****

Great food, nice people, waited too long for entree.

  • *****

Loved the ambience, appetizers and the service. Overall it was a fulfilling experience.

  • *****

Casual setting. Great for a family or couple dinner date. I would recommend the “Ropa Vieja” dish. The staff are warm and welcoming. The place is clean, great service. Definitely would go back sometime.

  • *****

This place is amazing! the food, the drinks, the service and has a great atmosphere! prices are so so good for the delicious food they deserve. I go there very often for lunch, happy hours and dinners! it is my favorite spot for the summer! Nothing will beat their food! savory Latin fusion meals! yum yum

  • *****

Great location in downtown Stamford. They have an outside patio, great drink menu, and the food is delicious. This is definitely going to be one of my fav spots.

  • *****

We had a great meal on the patio of Cilantro. The plantain chips and pico de gallo they bring out were delicious. We had the crab cake appetizer and the steak with tostones. I would recommend both. Our server was attentive but drinks were a little slow to come out but I attribute that to getting out the first week kinks. Great new spot in downtown Stamford!

  • *****

Big improvement over Station eats. Food was very good and waitresses were nice. It's a tough upper level spot with a great patio over the street. I hope they do well.

  • *****

Have come here twice for lunch on Saturdays. Great appetizers. Great lunch entrees. Great prices. Best plantain chips we've ever had. We will come here to try the dinner menu too!

  • *****

This is down the street from my job, so I went for lunch today. The Arroz con pollo was delicious, and my friend got a really good steak dish. They served us plantain chips and pico de gallo while we waited for our orders to arrive. I will definitely be coming back again to try more of their awesome food.

  • *****

Delicious homemade food cooked and presented to perfection. Service was attentive. Chicken curry was spiced right. red snapper over mushroom risotto was exquisite. Full bar and extensive and reasonably priced wine list. Sangria was great! Will definitely be back!

  • *****

I've eaten here three times in the past month and have not been disappointed. I've had their sangria (peach and red) as well as the mixed cocktails, the bar is on-point. As for the food...DELICIOUS. The guacamole and salsa with plantain chips to the Cerviche to the entrees. I will keep coming back because it's just that good.

  • *****

An excellent addition to the local restaurant scene. Friendly staff and great food. The cocktails are amazing, highly recommend the caliente margheritas. The menu is eclectic and a great representation of all there is to love about Latin America. All in all, felt like I was transported away several degrees latitude to the south. New local fav. Will be back soon!

  • *****

What an amazing dinner!! Braised short rib was "melt-in-the-mouth" and steak with shrimp cooked to perfection!

  • *****

I came here with my niece and everything was delicious. We had the shrimp scampi the seafood stew and the chickens saltado which had an interesting twist as it's made with curry and coconut milk so it's not quite what you would expect but definitely worth trying if you want something different. I really enjoyed the staff who were super friendly and accommodating and very professional.

  • *****

Fantastic! We've been there 3 times - twice for lunch and once for dinner with a large party. Great food, great service, great ambiance. For lunch, I highly recommend the ceviche misto - very fresh and generous portion of seafood with avocado delicately flavored and the ensalada de arrugula with salmon. The salmon was perfect - crisply seared, well-seasoned and just barely cooked. Melted in my mouth. For dinner, we loved the seared red snapper, sauteed shrimp and short ribs. This place is now on our regular rotation. I can't believe Station Eats once occupied this place. Cilantro is a major step up. This is definitely one of the top 5 restaurants in Stamford.

  • *****

Fabulous homemade guacamole with plantain chips followed by delicious Sea Bass special entry - even came adorned with a flower! Service was leisurely and location convenient- directly across from Palace Theater plaza, up the steps. Not sure I want to post - sure to become super popular if all meals are like this one! The outdoor terrace looks like fun next summer.

  • *****

Had the pleasure of sharing a business lunch at this fine establishment.

We were greeted at the door to a smiling waiter, and an immaculately laid out dining room.

The servers were attentive and knowledgeable. The food was DELICIOUS!!! and plated beautifully.

On the way out, the chef smiled and waived! So nice.

We are definitely planning on going back!

  • *****

    One word= Amazing.
Stopped by here for a cocktail and appetizer and couldn't have been more impressed. Eric and Jay along with the rest of the crew were so friendly and hospitable. Go for the guacamole and the (don't forget this) the "Enyucado"! It's light, crispy yuca bread stuffed with short rib topped with a delicate slaw. Yum!
We absolutely loved this place and cannot wait to go back for dinner.

  • *****

The restaurant accommodated our group of 6. The restaurant itself is small but intimate. The decor is very modern and comfortable. We all had a great time, the food was excellent and the service was even better. We brought a cake to be served and the staff helped to serve it till we were ready. The location has a big terrace so assuming that in the summer time it would be nice to dine there. Amazing time definitely going again.

  • *****

SO GOOD!! A beautiful restaurant, excellent service, great drinks and amazing food. Recommend for dinner date or drinks, but lunch and margaritas were fun too!

  • *****

So,this is my second time eating at this restaurant. I had lunch about a month ago and had dinner on Friday night. Our waitress was friendly and immediately told us about the happy hour specials. We had the calamari and guacamole/chips and it was delicious. Our main courses; steak, rice w/ black beans & plantains and stew beef w/ mushrooms over fried plantains all of which were very good. The restaurant is lovely but my only complaint is that it was a little dark. There were small candles on the tables but not enough light for my liking.

  • *****

We had the snapper with mushroom risotto and margaritas. One of the best meals in a long time-delicious! The service was also friendly and very attentive. They have a great location on Atlantic Street across from the Palace Theater and a large patio. I predict they will be jammed come summer. Go now!

  • *****

Great ambience, decor, location and service.

Anyone who enjoys Fiesta's across the street will really enjoy Cilantro.

Did I forget to mention they have Two Roads on tap!!!

Despite being completely empty around 6:30pm on a Tuesday (not really a good sign), this place was amazing. My wife and I wanted a nice dinner out, and our kids were with the grandparents, so we had opportunity to explore a new place. I was also looking for a place that was Whole 30 friendly, so I had checked out the menu online. They first brought out pico de gallo and plantain chips (yay! Whole 30 friendly!). I also had the shrimp ceviche, which was $9.95, but then we realized there were several things for just $5 on the happy hour menu--sangria (not for me), guacamole, shrimp ceviche, chicken quesadilla (not for me). The ceviche was tangy and some of the best I've had since I first tried it in Ecuador many years ago. There were several entrees that were Whole 30 friendly, and I had the strip steak in red chimichurri sauce, roasted vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts), and purple potato mash. My wife said the sangria and her mahi mahi on guac and mushroom risotto were excellent. Just a note about "Whole 30 friendly" for those who are looking for that sort of thing: I already did a round of very strict Whole 30, so this time around, I'm doing the best I can. So, could the plantain chips have been sauteed/fried in non-Whole 30 oil? Sure. Could there have been a dollop of dairy in the purple potato mash? Sure (though I don't think so). If I were being super strict, I wouldn't have had those things. But I still would have had the excellent steak and roasted veggies.

  • *****

Everything I had ate here was great. Went for the first time last night, drinks were perfect, plantains w pico de gallo while we waited for our food was delicious! Along with the main course, steak with rice and beans, half a fried egg on too with great sauce. Mmm sooo good, service was great too food came out at a good speed. Ill be back for sure.

  • *****

Eric makes the best margaritas evah! The beef empanadas are fantastic and I just keep buying the groupon over and over and taking my friends. When the weather continues to be warm I assume they'll open up their patio with outdoor seating and I'm super excited! Try it out! The entire staff and owner are crazy friendly.

  • *****

This is my boyfriend and my go to restaurant when in Stamford!! The service, food, and drinks are amazing. They have an outdoor patio with music where you can sit and enjoy your dinner. Definitely recommend.

  • *****

Fabulous... Interesting and flavorful contemporary takes on classic South American dishes. One better than the next. Killer cocktails, amateur but polite and hard working servers. Will keep going back!

  • *****

A little bit more fancy place than Fiesta across the street. But Fiesta has more flavour in their food.

Seems like they are known for their drinks - which we did not order any. But would definitely come back to check out the drinks.

We came to try out the lunch menu, which was good - but it looks like all the other reviews are for the dinner menu.

    We had ordered:

    - Shrimp ceviche
    - Lomo saltado (beef with tomato, rice and fries)
    - Salmon con piato

the ceviche had an interest sauce to it, that we couldn't quite figure out - but it was good. The lomo saltado was good - very big portion and the salmon wasn't bad either - very nice plate presentation.

when we first sat down, we were given fresh fried plantain chips with pico de gallo - which were great!

Overall, we had a great meal and will come back again.

  • *****

Good food and the bartender Eric is very nice and hospitable. Steak Gaucho was really flavorful and tender.

  • *****

Great food and definitely a hidden gem in Stamford- a pleasant surprise. Waitstaff was friendly, however service was very good, not exceptional. The outdoor seating was fine, although the outdoor tables are small (for a party of 4) and we felt a bit cramped. I would recommend they put table clothes on the outdoor tables to give the place a higher-end feel.

  • *****

This is a hidden gem! Food was very good so we're drinks but def on the pricier side.

  • *****

First time today and I'm coming back soon!! The food is so tasty and fresh, the staff friendly and attentive, prices super affordable and portions are great! I like to write reviews and be as honest as I can be, because I use other people reviews when considering buy, visit, stay or eat and I want others can make a decision based on honest review!!
To start I ordered the enyucado sooo good!! Crunchy outside, soft yuca pure and shredded beef, my friend ordered the gambas, so flavorful, entree pescado a lo macho and arroz con pollo!!! Dessert: warm bread pudding omg!!!
In one word:: AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE!!

  • *****

The food was good, the service was very good. My only problem was nothing on the menu really appealed to me. I ended up getting a steak dish, which was very good. I enjoyed the view and the atmosphere as well. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a romantic dinner on a beautiful evening.

  • *****

Great affordable food. Home made chips and salsa for the table, no charge and free refills. Delicious. We ordered fried calamari as an appetizer. Delicious. Main dish was shrimp quesadilla. Delicious. I will go back again and again and again. Extra bonus- they were playing the best rock en espanol type music! I recommend this place for sure. Great place with great food!

  • *****

I wish I took pictures, the food was great. The service was good. They have a great Happy Hour, $5 for mimosas, beer and cocktails. I got a tasty mojito. We ordered two beef dishes, one a ery tender braised prime rib with cilantro polenta and carrots, the other was skirt steak drizzled with red chimichurri, brussel sprouts and yucca, we also got Tres Leches, everything was flavorful and delicious, good quality for the cost. I highly recommend this place to others. I will definitely be back.

  • *****

My husband and I enjoyed our dinner here very much! The food was delicious and reasonably priced. His drink was good, too. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. And they have an outdoor patio. We'll be back!

  • *****

Lovely, romantic, hideaway. The food is awesome and the service by Jorge, and Sonia, was exceptional. The chef is brilliant. We ordered Cazuela and Salmon con Pinto which were amazing, Yummmm!
We will return soon. I am spreading the news about Cilantro Restaurant Latin Fusion

  • *****

Consistently delivers savory dishes and attentive, pleasant service at a reasonable price. Try the huachinango ( a deliciously flavorful red snapper dish of smooth and pleasing texture) and appetizers such as the ceviche, tuna tartar and the gambas al ajillo). Altogether a pleasant experience topped by a glass of Rioja, an espresso, and a tasty-but-not-too-sweet dulce de leche cheesecake. Try it and enjoy it. And it is conveniently located directly across Kiwanis Park from the Majestic movie theater complex and diagonally across Atlantic Street from the Palace Theater.

  • *****

Jesus Christ..... this food is unreal. I'm literally writing this review while eating here. It's so good I had to post this now. Food is excellent! Try their Arroz con pollo! My mom is a manager in a famous Spanish food franchise in the city and this places' rice is light years better! So happy we discovered this place. Big Ups to Groupon! Will be coming here next time we are in town.

  • *****

Hard to find if you're not purposely looking for it, but worth searching out! The food was excellent! We decided to go with all appetizers. We had gambas al ajillo (shrimp with garlic), the pupusa salvadorea (corn cake with sauted shrimp and chorizo), sopa de langosta (lobster bisque), and quesadilla de pollo (quesadilla with chicken and refried beans). The only thing that was less than impressive was the quesadilla. We liked the soup - it had chunks of lobster, but it was a little bit spicier than we anticipated. The shrimp and pupusa were the stars of the show. The shrimp in both dishes were cooked perfectly - tender, not rubbery. The sauces were both delicious. The free plantain chips and salsa were excellent, too. We had a Groupon which was a great way to try this restaurant. We'll be sure to go back! The only downfalls were the fact that the music was very loud for the fact that there were only the two of
us and then 3 people at the bar.

  • *****

Food was delicious!! Definitely recommend for a good night out. Intimate atmosphere and great service.. even got a free round of drinks on the house! The guacamole with plantain chips

  • *****

Had lunch and selections were fabulous- complete with fantastic Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits wine pairings.
Clean, service was pleasant, conveniently located and accessible thru Stamford Town center - Landmark Square shopping center.
I had Salmon, paired with my personal choice a glass of Rita 22 Malbec from Argentina. The presentation was as good as it tasted. Yummy!! I will definitely return and try dinners, & warmer season to checkout their outdoor seating.
My colleague ordered the veggie fajitas, looked good as well.

  • *****

This place is great! We took the kids here. Excellent environment for adults and for kids. Food is absolutely tasty and yummy and delicious. Good friendly service. Kind a hip not too expensive... A winner. I'll definitely be on my top five Stanford dining destinations now on. Fabulous salsa, tuna tartare to die for. Right column Mari is extremely yummy... just come here, you will not regret it.

  • *****

Favorite place in Stamford! The waiters are super friendly and professional, the atmosphere is great and the food is delicious! This is by far the best Latin food in the area! I highly recommend you check this place out and try the pollo saltado!

  • *****

Order take out thru grubhub. The food was pretty good. I order sum empanadas app and carne asada it was goood. I cant wait to actually go and sit and have a meal

  • *****

Great dishes for the price and great presentation, service is a bit slow. Lovely outdoor seating for the summer. Their dishes don't match the menu 100%, they make the dishes sound more exotic on the menu so beware it's a bit misleading which is my only complaint.

  • *****

Was in Stamford for a meeting and needed a walking distance option with decent ratings. Cilantro delivered and some! This is finger food as it is meant to be. Attentive staff across the board, excellent presentation on playing, nice wine pairings, and the diversity of pre and post dining choices was hard to cull through.

This can be upscale as a business meeting lunch or casual as needed. There's a deck outside for 2nd floor street views and if in Stamford again I'd be hard pressed to not try this option again.

  • *****

Hidden away, but a great find. Great attentive service. Had special skirt steak and bisque. Very good. Will go back.

  • *****

Went to Cilantro tonight and had a wonderful dinner for two. The staff was sincerely welcoming. The menu was interesting and had a number of new and unexpected ways of combining elements. We shared two entrees: Huachinango (Red snapper over mushroom risotto topped with a lovely fresh slaw) and Steak Gaucho ( beautiful steak and jalapeno cilantro chimichurri, with purple mashed potatoes and lobster). Both were delicious!!! I was able to thank the chef and had a wonderful conversation about the menu and the cuisine. I strongly encourage you to visit!

  • *****

The staff is very sweet and the food was great. Well flavored and fresh. Loved the variety of options and the cocktails. Would definitely come back.

  • *****

Decided to have lunch here on a Saturday and I have to say that I was 100% satisfied with the overall service and the quality of the food. The staff was very attentive and always passed by to see if we were okay or needed anything else. The food was made fairly quickly and the presentation was good. I will definitely come back to this restaurant the next time that I visit Stamford CT.

  • *****

This is an amazing find! Fresh delicious and interesting food. Great service at very reasonable prices. Love it! I've been 3 times and it has been consistently wonderful!

  • *****

I ate here a while ago when I used to work in the mall. We ordered takeout a few times, and the portions are a little small for the price you pay. I would give 3.5 stars, but gave them the benefit of rounding up. The food was good, but overpriced. One night, me and two co-workers got drinks here. The bartender was sweet and attentive. I felt that it was appropriate that she was fluent in English and Spanish. The restaurant is cozy and small, but they have outdoor dining which is nice, even for downtown Stamford. The restaurant is elevated above the street, so the outdoor dining offers convenient privacy from the busy-ness of the street. It has an intimate feeling, so it would be cute for a date night. We parked a short way down the street in the mall garage across from the Rich Forum, so we didn't have to search for street parking on busy Atlantic street.

  • *****

This is a great spot for Latin fusion in downtown Stamford.
Pros: Nice outdoor area for when the weather is nice... not quite a rooftop, more of a patio halfway up the building. They bring plantain chips and a yummy pico de gallo to start, our waters were kept full, the salmon was crispy and deliscious on the outside and cooked perfectly, they did a little birthday song and gave a piece of cake to my cousin upon request. Everyone's meals came out looking impressive and nicely plated.

Cons: Our drinks took awhile to come out and when they did I was not impressed with the amount of margarita you get for $12. The margarita was very good however I took 3 sips and hit the bottom. The small glass was filled with so much ice that I hardly drank anything. The second round I got a white sangria which had much less ice but was too sweet and tasted like juice. The 3 of us spent $24 each on drinks (2 drinks each) which I realize now was not at all worth it. Save yourself the disappointment and get a beer or a glass of wine!

  • *****

Had a great dinner here on Thursday evening. I've always wanted to dine in the outside patio area upstairs and did just that. I had a great time with my husband! We sat ourselves when we arrived around 6:30 pm. There werent many people there but they did start to arrive soon after.

As soon as we sat down, we were greeted by a waitress. I normally don't write this in my reviews, but what the hell: all the waitresses were super attractive, hehe. Anyway, they provide every table with plantain chips and pico de gallo to start. The pico was fresh and delicious!

We ordered calamari to start, the curry chicken pollo saltado (nothing like traditional pollo saltado) and short ribs. We had the churros for dessert. The calamari was lightly fried and the batter was well flavored/spiced. The chicken was amazing!!! It was flavorful and had very good rice with it. Highly recommend it-my favorite part of the meal. The short ribs were cooked so that they were tender. And they came with a cilantro polenta and roasted carrots. The only issue was that short ribs and polenta were a bit heavy on the salt. They were delicious, but i think with a little less salt, they would have been great competition for #1 with the chicken.

The dessert order came with 4 churros stuffed with caramel and coated in sugar. They came with Mexican chocolate dipping sauce and ice cream with whipped cream and a raspberry. That was so decadent for the amount after a large meal for 2 people.

I didnt have any drinks but alot people seemed to enjoy theirs. I would definitely come back to Cilantro. Check out the pictures of the food I posted!

  • *****

Cilantro is located in downtown Stamford, and has a really nice outdoor patio overlooking the street. We were served some delicious pico de gallo with chips when we first sat down along with water for the table.

The service was pretty good, and the food was pretty good -- nothing very special. I ordered the Lomo Saltado, which is a fairly easy dish to do right. Cilantro's version was a bit different, and not in the best way. The steak they used was very hard, and the fries weren't cooked enough.

I couldn't really quite figure out the menu. I understand the whole latin fusion concept, but the menu was just all over the place. No complaints anywhere, just wasn't very blown away.

  • *****

Excellent place to eat. A very extensive menu of Latin fusions and a wonderful staff. I ordered a seafood soup (Cazuela) and was amazing.

  • *****

Great food here and convenient location right in the middle of Downtown and perfect for a quick lunch.

I ordered the steak dish and I remembered that it was cook very well.

  • *****

Tiny place off the beaten path but worth the visit.
    Quant bar friendly staff.
Quick delivery of fried plantain chips and fresh salsa with a hint of sweetness.
I had the Mahi , beautiful presentation and generous portion.

  • *****

First time at Cilantro. Food was fantastic. My husband and I shared the Gambas Ajillo which was very nice. What was really fantastic is a soup we had that is served for brunch - short rib soup that was so good. We were in the mood for soup. Then we had the paella which was excellent very flavorful and really satisfying.
I look forward to coming back and to try their brunch too

  • *****

We had a great experience there. Great happy hour! We sat at the bar on a Friday night. It runs until 7. $5.00 glasses of Sangria and they had some others for the same price. We also had beef skewers, shrimp ceviche (both on HH), fried plantains, tres leches, and another small plate that was a daily special. I cannot remember its name (it had shrimp and lobster over fried green plantains). Everything was delicious. The bartender was nice. Small place, but not overcrowded. In the warmer months, they have a nice deck. Highly recommend.

Great place with amazing food and fantastic outdoor seating in the summer. The happy hour menu has a fantastic selection of both food and drinks! I recommend it to all my friends.

Nice space, upbeat background music... I sat down at the bar, as I was dining alone for lunch, and the bartender was very attentive - come to find out he's the owner! I asked what was good and he made a few recommendations, but I remember seeing other Yelpers rave about the Costarican Enyucado so I tried that... DELICIOUS!!! And plenty big, enough for a full meal. I can't wait to come back and try other dishes!!!

I've travelled extensively in Latin America, and Cilantro would be a find in any of the countries I've been to! The ceviche mixto, with a spicy red marinade, was spectacular. The Salvadoran puposa, a kind of deconstructed riff on the classic, with shrimp, lobster and chorizo on a thick corn cake, with a creamy corn and pepper salsa, was pure Latin comfort food! The Cilantro and Jalapeo margaritas were very tasty, too. The portions are large, so two tapas per person would be more than enough.

I took my two little ones there, they were nine and 10 years old. They are very skeptical of trying new places that are not pizza places, but we got to sit outside on the rooftop and look over at downtown StamfordWhich they loved. We ordered a shrimp and a fish dish, which they both loved and wanted to go back to again. I agreed and was just happy that they enjoyed some real food. Thank you Cilantro for hosting us.

Excellent service and very friendly, had the gambas Al alijio was a bit salty, paella was amazing and they give you a lot, steak I ordered my steak rare came out medium rare, still very good! Will definitely be coming back!

Came here to try it out after finding out fiesta was closed and I have to say, this experience was one of the best I've had.

They close at 10 and we showed up around 9, very friendly staff and didn't make us feel rushed at all. Viviana was our waitress and she was the best! Superb service, very knowledgeable about the menu and gave great drink suggestions. I had the passion fruit mojito and it was so good, not stingy on the liquor either.

The food was absolutely delicious. Hot and flavorful! I ordered off of the lunch menu but they accommodated it and made it anyway without hesitation. They closed within the hour but you would've never guessed. Beautiful decor and the candle light made it feel so much more intimate. As far as pricing, it is a little pricey but considering the atmosphere, quality of food, and location, I believe it was worth it.

Can't wait to come back and try them out for brunch.

Nice quaint place with very good service and food. Just a little too dark when your having dinner. Cute bar and cozy. Would go back. The staff was super friendly.

Great little find in the area. Latin fusion, no idea what that means but wanted to try something different. Super friendly staff, seems to be a family owned and operated restaurant and everyone was very nice and friendly. They have an outdoor seating area with heaters but we opted to eat inside as we just came from Lucky's Classic Burgers where we sat outside, it was warmer and in the full sun there. There is a bar area which you can sit at to eat/drink as well as indoor modern themed dining room. We basically closed the place and they didn't even bat an eyelash. Very accommodating as we must have been there for countless hours.

Had a nice bottle of wine, was 50% off for bottles today, no brainer as each glass is normally $9-$15 anyway. They give you a dish of Pico and Plantain chips to help you work thru the menu, those went quick!! Started with the Coconut Shrimp which was very good, had a very tasty sauce alongside but forgot the name of it. Moved onto the entrees which had such great presentation. Pics to follow. My friend had the Caribbean Pollo Saltado which was excellent, so much flavor. A Jamacian Style Sauteed Chicken with terrific compliments while I had the Pollo Relleno which is a Pan Roasted Free Range Chicken, stuffed with Columbian Chorizo, Goat Cheese and Sweet Plantains. Right up my alley and was full of flavor and not dry at all.

For desert we got the Chocolate Madness Cake (think that was the name, like a Lava cake). Again presentation was really good and the cake was even better! Devoured it. Pricing is decent, food is excellent and the service is great. Place is super clean and has a steady stream of authentic music playing to keep you in the mood. The online menu needs to be updated as some prices have increased and there are some menu item updates that aren't included.

This place was killer! It's a little on the fu fu side but the food is legit.
The plantain chips with pick is a tasty little treat.
I had the duck tacos. They were very good. The sauce was good as well.
I would recommend if you're in the mood for Latin fusion.

This place is lit! The signature Cilantro margarita is actually on fire when they serve it! Happy hour ends at 7 and on ladies night, girls get drinks for $5!!! All their drinks are good. Their margaritas, sangras and even their beers on tap!!

Their Happy hour chicken quesadilla is amazing!!! And their beef skewers and calamari are also pretty good. The churros are also a great dessert option for those who have a sweet tooth. The place is busy during lunchtime because of all the businesses nearby, but it pretty intimate at night. There is a lovely outdoor patio seating area as well.

It located on Atlantic but it is connected to the mall and the rest of Landmark Square.

Nice place in downtown stamford which I really enjoyed - especially because it was easy for me to find vegetarian / vegan options which is not a must, but sometimes eating out I want a choice. I had the veggie fajitas which were delicious, if not just a bit too oily. Nonetheless they were sesoned the same way the steak is, so it was really good.

Great atmosphere, great food. We had a party of 18 people. They accommodated us without a hitch. Our party came in in little by little and it wasn't a problem. Food was great as well as the drinks. I'll be going again.

What an amazing place! Since my bf insisted on sitting outside, we waited the whole winter to come here. We sat at on of the tall tables on the brink of the patio, so we had a view of the street. Staffs were friendly and very patient.
Let's talk about the food then, shall we? The complimentary appetizer was green plantain chips with salsa, and I was impressed by that already. The chips were infused with just the right amount of oil so that it's not dry at all and you don't think "ugh this is unhealthy" just by looking at them. The chips were tasty on their own but the salsa was definitely a plus. What I liked about it was that half of the solid content was raw purple onion but I didn't taste the unpleasant spiciness of raw onions at all. It was a well balanced salsa with tangy juice.
For entre I got the Ropa Vieja (stacked shredded beef and mushroom with guajillo-aji sauce). The tower of meat consisted of two layers, separated with toston (a small pressed green plantain pancake). The first bite was impressive, the flavor of the beef and outstanding taste of the mushroom (which I barely saw among the meat) were complemented by the creamy chili (but not spicy) sauce. I used up the sauce before I even got to the second layer, so later it became a little drier and harder to chew. It was a huge portion, very generous of the kitchen, but I did wish there was more sauce to go with the meat. My bf got the Trio Steak Tostones (Angus strip steak, mushroom and spinach with shrimp-chorizo-lobster sauce). Omg the sauce was amazing. Lobster flavored steak? You need to try for yourself.
For dessert we shared the Chocolate Madness Cake, which was a rum-infused lava cake. We both liked the black cherry sauce drizzled on the side with the cake a lot.
This is absolutely a gem in Stamford. THEY DO FUSION RIGHT. But I don't know if it's because they're a flight up from the street, the restaurant never seemed to be full. You're missing out, guys!

Cilantro is one of my favorite restaurants. In terms of the food, they have a great lunch and dinner menu but I think their food is a bit overpriced, which is why I prefer to go there for happy hour!

$5 drinks and appetizers are pretty tough to beat. I love the plantain chips they give you when you arrive. They're very warm and crispy, and the salsa is perfect. Also, their calamari is delicious! For meals I recommend the bistec criollo! The service is great too!
